This book doesn't make it's case that there's no way the stone chambers in Vermont (and elsewhere) weren't built by visiting peoples from northern Europe and the Iberian peninsula between say BCE and CE. But it's a decent catalog of these kinds of chambers and some of the uses they've indeed been put to over the last few hundred years/5(3).

Vermont adds to that list of eccentric finds with mysterious stone chambers scattered in the deep forests and rocky highlands around the state. These strange beehive structures have incredible craftsmanship, using several ton stones put together with dexterity and without the use of machinery or mortar.
